“I was keen to pursue a career working with horses. Having had a thoroughly enjoyable weeks work experience at Caron Roberts equestrian I took up the opportunity to work there full time when I left school. There is such a vast variety of horses at Caron’s you learn something different from each one from a happy hacking cob up to top level eventers and dressage horses. Caron and the team are keen to develop you and expand your knowledge, I had lots of instruction and lessons in the classroom, on the yard and whilst riding." "During my time there I achieved all my BHS Stages as well as NVQ's in horse care level 2 and 3 and customer care level 2. As well as helping me achieve my academic qualifications they helped me develop my riding skills and I had the opportunity to ride and compete on clients horses. This set me up for the next step in my career, including free lancing for several top riders, becoming 2nd rider for Christopher Burton and eventing my own string of horses up to 3*. I highly recommend Caron Roberts equestrian as a starting point for anyone seeking an equestrian career.” |

"I worked at Caron Roberts Equestrian for 3 years. I came to CRE straight out of school at 16 and the help and support I was given from the start was amazing, not just with my riding and training but the whole team also made me feel at home right away. In my time with Caron and the team I was lucky enough to ride and compete lots of horses at lots of different level and the training I received was brilliant! I got my BHS stages 1-4, my HGV licence and I also did a customer care course. The whole time I was give constant help and support with my work. Being dyslexic I struggled to learn by just reading out of a book and taking notes so the team at CRE helped me to learn in different ways that I found really useful. I couldn’t have got all of the qualifications I received without the help of the team. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Caron Roberts Equestrian and I would recommend an Apprenticeship there to anyone looking to pursue a career in the horse industry." |

"In the three years I spent at CRE I developed a wealth of new skills thanks to the supportive and fast-paced work environment. The variety of the work, horses, and their individual programs ensured that throughout my apprenticeship I was gaining new experiences every day. Not only was the training inclusive for the equine industry, but I also obtained a plethora of life-skills that are relevant even outside of the horse world. Opportunities to try my hand at new things were always available, as well as a safety-net of support behind me all the time. Although my strengths were recognised and allowed to progress further, I was always given the chance to improve on my weaknesses; I never felt like just a number. Living on-site also gave me a chance to develop my independence as well as build lasting relationships with my colleagues and trainer. I don't think I would have found such a diverse and inclusive apprenticeship anywhere else." |
